Pricing

How we price the work.

For carpentry work in Fremantle and Perth south of the river, the payment schedule depends on the job and the materials we need to order. It is written into your quote.

For larger jobs

Our usual payment schedule is:

  1. 50% materials deposit

Paid before we place the material orders.

  2. Remaining materials

Invoiced as materials arrive on site.

  3. Labour

Invoiced fortnightly while work is under way.

For smaller jobs

We may give you one price for supply and installation.

Sometimes, things change.

Older homes can hide work we cannot see before we start. Removing cladding may expose tired battens or framing. Walls and floors may be out of square.

Material choice, removal, access, site condition and finishing details also affect the price. If something changes the scope, we explain it and agree on the next step with you before we continue.

Common questions

Is the 50% materials deposit required for every job?

It's usual for larger jobs with materials to order, and we need that deposit before we place the orders. Smaller jobs, often under $5,000, may be one supply-and-install price. Your quote confirms the schedule.

Why is labour invoiced fortnightly?

On longer jobs it keeps payments tied to work done, so you're not paying all the labour up front or a huge bill at the end. The quote writes in the rhythm. Smaller jobs may not need that split.

Can you give me a fixed price?

Yes, when the scope and site are clear. Older homes can hide work until cladding, boards or flooring come up. If part of the job stays hidden, we flag that in the quote and talk to you before anything changes.

How long does a quote take?

We try to get it back in a week or two, depending on the size of the job. Photos can start a high-level estimate. A proper quote usually needs that site visit first.
